Signing day primer: Louisville Cardinals

The week long early signing period begins on Wednesday and the University of Louisville will be busy. The U of L men are expected to sign four players, while the women will likely sign three. Cardinal Authority will have all the details.

It's national signing day for college basketball.

And the fax machines at the University of Louisville should be working overtime throughout the day with seven basketball signees expected.

U of L men's basketball coach Rick Pitino is expecting national letters-of-intent from four prospects, while women's coach Jeff Walz is likely to receive three.

Cardinal Authority will be keeping track of all the signings throughout the day, including stories on each of the new players. ranks the four-man men's class as the No. 6 class in the country.

Pitino will sign three guards and Omaha, Neb., Central High School center Akoy Agau, who is the No. 18 ranked center in the country.

Northwest Florida College point guard Chris Jones, ranked as one of the top junior college players in the country, will also sign with the Cardinals.

The two other men's signees will be the Chatham, Va., Hargrave Military Academy duo of Anton Gill and Terry Rozier. Gill is ranked as the No. 29 player in the country, while Rozier is tabbed at No. 84. Rozier signed with the Cardinals last season but didn't make it to campus.

Walz will sign Edwardsville, Ill., standout Emmonie Henderson, who is ranked as the No. 28 player in the country by

Junior college guards Starr Breedlove and Janelle Cannon are also expected to sign with the Cardinals.
