PG Chris Jones is 'now a Cardinal'

University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino has his replacement for point guard Peyton Siva. Northwest Florida College standout Chris Jones signed his letter-of-intent on Wednesday.

The high-scoring 5-foot-10 Jones committed to the Cardinals in September and said he was "just so excited" to make it official.

"It feels so good to be a Louisville Cardinal," Jones told Cardinal Authority. "I don't want to say I felt like I was nervous or anything because I know I picked the perfect place.

"But it's just nice to get this off my shoulders. Now, I'm a Cardinal.",/p>

Jones, who originally signed with Tennessee and was a top 100 prospect out of high school in Memphis, Tenn., is considered the top junior college prospect in the country.

Jones is averaging 28 points a game at NW Florida. He said he plans on visiting U of L for a game, perhaps the matchup against Kentucky.

"I've been watching them and can't wait to see them play," Jones said. "I'm just excited."
