Finesse Middleton arrives for official visit

Defensive end prospect Finesse Middleton, a current Ole Miss pledge, is set for an official visit with Louisville this weekend. Cardinal Authority spoke with Middleton moments before he began his official visit.

As CardinalAuthority.com first reported in October, Finesse Middleton of Gadsden City (Ala.) High School, an Ole Miss commitment since July, was strongly considering a change of mind.

"I've been a fan of Louisville since I was growing up and really have always liked that school," he told Scout.com in July. "Also, I have a relationship with Coach Strong when he was down in Florida. We had gotten to know each other so when I got that offer from them I was real happy."

Middleton has visited U of L multiple times, including most recently in October for an unofficial visit for the Cardinals home win against South Florida.

"Coach Strong and I have just had a really good bond for a long time," he told CardinalAuthority.com.

His relationship with Coach Strong will likely be the deciding factor in Middleton's final decision between the Cardinals and Rebels.

"I have a few questions for the coaching staff when I sit down with them," Middleton said on Friday afternoon. "My main question though is about Coach Strong and the coaching change stuff. I want to know if he's going to be there."

Should Middleton feel comfortable that Strong remains committed to coaching at Louisville, then the Alabama All-Star could very well follow suit.

"I possibly could," he said.

Middleton anticipates enrolling at his school of choice in December, so a final decision will be soon coming.

"Probably within a week," he said.
