From the locker room: U of L rolls Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The University of Louisville had four players in double figured, forced 27 turnovers and demolished College of Charleston 80-38 on Tuesday night. Here are a few quotes from the locker rooms following the game.

"I got to spent a little time with John Kresse, a little time with Bobby Cremins, I got to see my daughter, and we played great. It couldn't have gone any better."

"We went back to the zone, trapping with man principals. We waited to put it in. That got us to Final Four and the Big East championship last year. It's sort of a run-and-jump in half court, and constant pressure."

"We said two things – shut the high post down and not give up threes and we are going to win this game."

"I can't tell you who didn't play great tonight. . . . Stephan Van Treese was awesome."

"We were planning on starting Stephan Van Treese. But I didn't know how the game was going to be called, so we went up and said, ‘Let's start Zach (Price) and he can get two fouls right away and be bring Stephan in.' Sure enough, he did."

"We evolved into the team we were last year."

"I told you Kevin Ware could play. Wayne (Blackshear) and Kevin just needed some confidence and they got it tonight."

"Our conditioning is amazing, to press like that and shoot 51 percent and only turn it over seven times. We made great decisions tonight."

"A sold-out crowd and the toughest ticket probably in the history. We knew they would be fired up. Seven minutes into the game the crowd was gone – we took them out of it – they were there but they were gone."

"It's the best we've looked this year on defense. We worked on it all week."

U OF L GUARD Peyton Siva

"They are a great team if they get into a half-court set and that was our main key not to let them. Our goal was to pressure their guards and it worked tonight."

"They (Louisville) are really good. You can't win a game with 27 turnovers - 18 steals for them. We tried to simulate their pressure yesterday in practice. Their length and strength is pretty impressive. They chose to play zone like St. John's. Both teams impressive physically. It was a tough night for us. We never put them on their heels."

"Peyton Siva is so in control of what he is doing. Russ Smith is a big-time scorer and just finds ways. Peyton is an NBA point guard. Both are very good. Both of them have played so long together, they are like brothers and play off of each other. Give credit to them."
