Benjamin latest to pledge to Cardinals

Richard Benjamin, a 3-star athlete prospect from Tampa Bay (Fla) Technical High School confirmed with CardinalAuthority.com that he has committed to play for Louisville.

University of Louisville head coach Charlie Strong received another commitment for the class of 2013.

Richard Benjamin, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete, pledged to Louisville during his official visit over the weekend.

"Yes I did," Benjamin said of his commitment. "I'm excited to be apart of the Cardinal Strong family."

Benjamin originally committed to Central Florida and Purdue but also considered Texas A&M and West Virginia.

A versatile athlete that could play on either side of the ball, Benjamin had 718 yards rushing and five touchdowns and 509 yards receiving and six TDs as a senior. He also had four interceptions.

He was recruited as a cornerback to U of L.
