U of L football schedule firmed up

The University of Louisville football program has learned that Houston and Temple will replace Boise State and San Diego State on next seasons football schedule. The Cardinals will play eight Big East Conference games.

The University of Louisville's football schedule for next season has been in flux since the recent departure of Boise State and then San Diego State from the Big East Conference.

On Friday, the Cardinals learned that a road game at Temple and a home game against Houston have been added to an eight-game Big East schedule.

U of L will now play Central Florida, Memphis, Houston and Rutgers at home. The road games will be against Cincinnati, Connecticut, Temple and South Florida in league play.

The non-conference games will be home against Ohio, Eastern Kentucky and Florida International and a road game against Kentucky in Lexington.

U of L won the Allstate Sugar Bowl this season and is expected to be ranked among the top 10 teams in the country next season.

Dates and times are expected in February.
