U of L hoops hosting trio of visitors

The University of Louisville basketball staff is using one of the biggest games of the season as a major recruiting tool. The Cardinals will host three prospects, including two top Class of 2014 prospects, at the KFC Yum! Center on Saturday when they play No. 6 Syracuse in a Big East Conference game.

The top-ranked University of Louisville basketball team will host Syracuse on Saturday at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals will also host three big-time recruits in what should be a crazy atmosphere.

Junior-college point guard Chris Jones, who has signed with U of L, will be making a visit to Louisville along with Class of 2014 stars Jaquan Lyle and Jalen Lindsey making return trips to the Yum Center.

Jones is considered the top junior college player in the country and averages 23.7 points a game for Northwest Florida State College, which is ranked No. 6 nationally at 17-1. Jones ranks third among JUCO players in scoring.

Expected to be the replacement for Peyton Siva next season at the point guard position, Jones made his official visit to U of L during the football season.

The 6-foot-4 Lyle, a standout from Evansville Bosse is ranked as the No. 13 player in the Scout.com '14 rankings, has been to U of L several times already. His most recent visit was to watch the Cardinals beat Kentucky on Dec. 29.

Lindsey, a 6-foot-7 wing from Nashville Christ Presbyterian, made the trip to watch U of L beat Providence on Jan. 2. He's ranked No. 22 in the '14 rankings and has been the King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic MVP two years in a row.

U of L's only '14 commitment at this point is Ballard High School point guard Quentin Snider.
