Benjamin "100 percent" committed to Cards

Tampa Bay Tech athlete Richard Benjamin committed to the University of Louisville before the Christmas holidays. U of L coach Charlie Strong made a visit to Benjamin on Wednesday and the prospect updated Cardinal Authority on his status.

The University of Louisville football staff has 13 verbal commitments and is trying to add more, while keeping the ones they have, with only two weeks left until college football national signing day.

One of the players getting attention from other schools is Tampa Bay Tech athlete Richard Benjamin, who committed to the Cardinals in late December.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Benjamin is getting a hard push from South Florida in recent weeks. He's already made his official visit to U of L.

U of L coach Charlie Strong was in Tampa, Fla., on Wednesday and checked in with Benjamin, who told Cardinal Authority the visit "went real good."

Benjamin then said his commitment to U of L is "100 percent" solid.

A versatile athlete that could play on either side of the ball, Benjamin had 718 yards rushing and five touchdowns and 509 yards receiving and six TDs as a senior. He also had four interceptions.
