Indianapolis DT wants a return trip to U of L

One of two defensive standouts from Indiana state champion Indianapolis Lawrence Central to attend Louisville's Junior Day, Kevin Willis said he enjoyed the trip so much that he plans on making a return soon. Cardinal Authority has an update on the defensive tackle and one of the top prospects in Indiana.

Indianapolis Lawrence Central defensive lineman Kevin Willis was a key performer on an undefeated team that won the Indian Class 5-A state title.

Now, after a season of success on the field Willis is picking up steam in the recruiting process with a lot of new interest.

The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Willis already has an offer from Indiana. He attended Louisville's Junior Day last weekend and is also hearing from Northwestern and Iowa and was invited to a Junior Day at LSU.

It was the first trip to Louisville for Willis, who attended Junior Day along with his teammate – linebacker Brandon Lee.

Willis said he enjoyed spending time listening to U of L head coach Charlie Strong and defensive coordinator Vance Bedford on his visit.

"I had a great time," Willis said. "I got to know the coaching staff a lot better and that's just from one trip there, so it's making me like them more.

"I can't wait to get back. I will be keeping in close contact with the coach so I can get to know a little more about Louisville."
