RB Jalen Manning discusses Louisville visit

The University of Louisville football staff is searching hard for a couple of running backs in the Class of 2014. One of the backs who attended Junior Day last weekend – Jalen Manning – has already been on campus before.

Carthage, Tenn., Smith County running back Jalen Manning had been to the University of Louisville's campus before last weekend.

But the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Manning said a trip to U of L's Junior Day last weekend helped him understand more about the Cardinals' program.

Manning doesn't have an offer but has high interest in U of L.

"It was a great experience," Manning said. "I learned about the university and what the team has to offer and was able to get closer with the staff.

"I saw what the location was like for the university and the surroundings and everything else like that. It was great."

Manning, who runs a 4.5 40-yard dash, is hoping to get back for the Spring Game. He was invited last year but was unable to attend.

With other schools involved, Manning said he would attend Mississippi State's Junior Day this weekend. He's also heard from Cincinnati, Duke and Memphis.

But at this point, U of L left a lasting impression.

"Overall, it was fantastic," Manning said. "I hope to continue to stay in touch with (Louisville) and hopefully get that offer."
