Louisville rolls in NCAA opener

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's basketball team had 20 steals and a balanced attack as the Cardinals tagged North Carolina A&T 79-48 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night in Rupp Arena.

Junior guard Russ Smith hit 10 of 16 from the field and led the Cardinals with 23 points and eight steals.

Wayne Blackshear has 12 points and five rebounds, while Gorgui Dieng had eight points and seven rebounds and Montrezl Harrell had eight points.

Senior point guard Peyton Siva finished with just six points but had eight assists. Chane Behanan also had eight points.

The Cardinals hit 31 of 54 from the field, including 4 of 16 three-pointers. The Cardinals were 13 of 22 on free throws.
