Louisville runs past Duke, into Final Four

The University of Louisville is headed to the NCAA Final Four once again. The top-seeded Cardinals defeated 2-seed Duke 86-63 on Sunday to claim the Midwest Region Title.

Louisville entered Sunday's Midwest Region Final against Duke as a three-point favorite, but the Cardinals didn't follow the script and ran past Duke for a 85-63 victory and a trip to the NCAA Final Four.

The top-seeded Cardinals were led by Russ Smith's 23 points. Peyton Siva scored 16 and dished out 4 assists. Gorgui Dieng recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, plus four blocks.

The game was delayed during the first half with Louisville sophomore guard Kevin Ware suffered a severe leg break. Ware was sent to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for surgery.

Louisville shot 54% from the field, while limiting Duke to just 37% from the floor. U of L outrebounded the Blue Devils 27-20.
