U of L football hosting visitors this weekend

The University of Louisville has both its women's and men's basketball teams playing in a Final Four this weekend. But it never stops for other programs at the university, including football and coach Charlie Strong. The Cardinals finalized details for the Spring Game and will host several recruits this weekend.

Cardinal Authority has confirmed that University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong and his staff will host at least four recruits this weekend.

Charlotte, N.C., Mecklenburg running back Shaun Wilson, Durham, N.C., Hillside safety Kalen McCain and Sylvania, Ohio, Southview wide receiver Jernard Pickney are all expected to be watching practice on Friday afternoon.

Fairfield, Ohio, Freshman offensive lineman Danny Burns is expected among the visitors on Saturday morning at practice.

All four players have offers from U of L.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound McCain said Louisville is "high up on" his list of schools, noting U of L, North Carolina State and Virginia Tech are among his leaders.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Pickney holds eight offers and said he's "really excited to see what Louisville has to offer when I make the visit."

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound Wilson ran for 1,700 yards and had 25 total touchdowns as a junior and is considered one of the elite prospects in the state of North Carolina next season.

Burns is a 6-foot-7, 300-pound prospect ranked No. 49 among offensive tackles in the country by Scout.com.
