Louisville high on list for Tampa athlete

University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong and his staff have been on a recruiting roll, landing six verbal commitments in a week. The staff is back on the road this week and lead for one standout from Florida.

Tampa Bay Tech athlete Tajee Fullwood has four scholarship offers but told Cardinal Authority that Louisville is one of his "top choices right now."

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Fullwood also has offers from Rutgers, Massachusetts and South Florida but said U of L and Rutgers are "at the top." He's also heard from Georgia, Indiana and Boise State among others.

"Actually, Louisville is one of my very top choices," he said. "I plan to go visit there this summer. I want to get there as soon as possible."

One of the top prospects in the Tampa Bay area, Fullwood is Mr. Versatile when it comes to a position. He scored last season on a rush, catch, kick return, punt return and interception return for Tampa Tech.

As a sophomore, Fullwood rushed for 690 yards and threw for 644 as a quarterback at East Bay High School. He ran 16 times for 113 yards and two TDs, caught 14 passes for 114 yards and one TD, averaged 46 yards on kicks and had three total interceptions and 61 tackles as a junior at Tampa Tech.

As a junior, Fullwood finished with 800 all-purpose yards.

U of L currently has nine commitments in the Class of 2014 with five of those prospects coming from the state of Florida.
