Cards offer emerging 2015 big man

The University of Louisville men's basketball staff was out on the road this weekend checking out prospects in the Class of 2014, '15 and '16. The Cardinals handed out a new offer for a big man from the '15 class. Cardinal Authority has the story.

One of the more impressive Class of 2015 performers at the Nike EYBL event in Hampton, Va., over the weekend caught the eye of the University of Louisville.

Our Savior New American (N.Y.) sophomore big man Cheick Diallo had been on the Cardinals' radar since last summer. But his performance this weekend earned him a scholarship offer from the Cardinals.

The 6-foot-9 Diallo also has offers from Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Arizona, St. John's, Villanova, Connecticut, Iowa State, Oregon, Texas and Miami. He's also getting some interest from Ohio State and Kentucky.

"Diallo was dominant at times in Hampton," Fox national recruiting analyst Evan Daniels said. "He's active, aggressive and one of the better shot blockers in high school basketball."

Originally from Bamako, Mali, Diallo plays on Team Scan in the EYBL. He averaged 10.5 points and 8.5 rebounds during the first event last weekend in Los Angeles.

Diallo's breakout game in Hampton was a 24-point, 17-rebound performance against top-five ranked sophomore Ivan Rabb.

Daniels said this was Diallo's "statement game."

Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on the recruitment of Diallo.
