Louisville adds Florida defensive back

University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong and his staff have struck again in the state of Florida for a commitment. The Cardinals have landed Tallahassee, Fla., Godby three-star defensive back De'Eric Culver.

The University of Louisville football staff have struck again in Florida.

U of L coach Charlie Strong and company now have 10 commitments in the Class of 2014 and Tallahassee, Fla., Godby defensive back becomes the sixth prospect in the class from the Sunshine State.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Godby is a three-star prospect according to Scout.com. He also had offers from Kentucky, Mississippi, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Memphis with other interest from Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, Missouri, Indiana, Vanderbilt, South Florida and Central Florida.

As a junior, Culver recorded 54 tackles, eight pass break-ups, five sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions.

Culver helped Godby win the Class 5-A state championship in Florida.

"I can come up in run support," Culver told Scout.com in a recent interview. "I am physical at the line of scrimmage and knock receivers off their route. For me, I just need to working on playing the ball better when it's in the air."

U of L now has eight commitments in less than a month.
