Ohio OL commits to Louisville

University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong and his staff continued its recent recruiting success, picking up another commitment on Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals 11th commitment in the Class of 2014 is Minford, Ohio, offensive lineman Jared McCray. Cardinal Authority has the story:

Jared McCray only had four scholarship offers.

But after two visits to the University of Louisville and talking it over with his family, the 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive lineman didn't want to wait for more.

McCray confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that he has committed to the University of Louisville, giving the Cardinals now 11 commitments in the Class of 2014. Nine of the 11 have come in the last 27 days.

"I feel comfortable with coach (Dave Borberly's) coaching style and with how the coaches made it feel like a family," McCray told Cardinal Authority. "It also seems like a great place for me to get a degree."

McCray has been on the U of L radar for a few months.

He visited U of L's Junior Day in February and picked up an offer while he was on the trip. He returned in late March and watched a U of L practice.

And on Tuesday, he called Charlie Strong and committed.

McCray also had offers from Akron, Ohio U., and Kent State. He had also been hearing from Cincinnati and Penn State.

More from McCray later on Cardinal Authority.
