Peyton Siva has always had dreams of playing in the NBA.
The former University of Louisville point guard could take a major step towards that goal this weekend at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.
Siva will be one of around 60 players competing in front of scouts, coaches and general managers from every team in the league at the combine.
"Very excited and ready," Siva said about the event.
The 6-foot Siva averaged 10 points and 2.4 rebounds as a senior and leaves U of L as the school's all-time steals leader and second in assists. He was named Big East Tournament MVP two years in a row and led the Cardinals to back-to-back Final Four appearances, including this year's title.
Siva has been training in Las Vegas since the end of the season.
In most NBA Mock Drafts, Siva is listed as a late second-round pick but he believes this weekend can go a long way into helping him raise his stock.
NBADraft.net says his "lack of size is a definite concern, though his athleticism is NBA level." Siva will be out to prove people wrong this weekend.
The 6-foot-11 Dieng has seen his name rise in the mock drafts and is now projected anywhere from No. 16-22. But Dieng won't be competing after suffering a sprained ankle in a workout recently.
The combine will be televised on Thursday and Friday from 10-2 on ESPNU and then from 2-3 p.m. on ESPN2.
