The University of Louisville athletic department announced five regional stops during a three-day period in June for the Cardinal Caravan.
The tour will include U of L coaches, student-athletes and members of the athletic staff in attendance at each of the stops. There will be photo and autograph opportunities, along with speeches from the coaches and plenty of trophies.
It's a ton of fun with the Cardinal bird, the Cheerleaders and the Lady Birds all in attendance. And it's free.
The three-day tour begins with two stops on June 4, including 11:45 a.m. at Kreso's Restaurant in Bardstown. The night stop on that day will on The River Walk at Captain's Quarters at 6:30 p.m. and will include U of L basketball coach Rick Pitino and athletic director Tom Jurich.
The sites for June 5 will be the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center in Bowling Green at 11:45 a.m. and the Grand Reserve in Lexington at 5:30 p.m.
The final stop will be at the Shelbyville Fairgrounds on June 6 at 6 p.m.
"This outreach is an energetic opportunity for our head coaches to hit the road and interact with the loyal Cardinal supporters," said U of L Associate Athletic Director for External Relations Brent Seebohm. "Our entire university and athletic programs have earned incredible national accolades this year, and we are enthused to make special stops to celebrate the success with our outstanding fans. We enjoy sharing our trajectory and gratitude across the Commonwealth."
U of L asks – because of capacity – to RSVP online for each of the events. You can register at www.uoflalumni.org/caravan2013 between May 23 and June 3.
