U of L offers top '15 quarterback

University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong and his staff are busy working on the future of the program. The Cardinals have 14 commitments in the Class of 2014 and recently offered another quarterback in the Class of 2015.

Lisle, Ill., Benet Academy junior quarterback Jack Beneventi is one of the top prospects from the state of Illinois in the Class of 2015.

And the University of Louisville is in the thick of his recruitment.

The Cardinals recently became the sixth school to offers Beneventi a scholarship and he's expected to attend a camp at U of L this summer.

The 6-foot-6, 200-pound Beneventi also has offers from Notre Dame, Iowa, Illinois, Massachusetts and Western Michigan.

As a sophomore, Beneventi completed 180 of 286 passes for 2,318 yards and 20 touchdowns for Benet.

Beneventi is the third quarterback in the Class of 2015 already offered by U of L, joining Olive Branch, Miss., quarterback Ross Trail and La Miranda, Calif., signal caller Kevin Dillman.
