"It went really well," said Scout.com four-star lineman prospect Matthew Elam. "I got to touch base with Coach Strong and Coach Carter. It was good to get back in touch with them because I haven't talked to them in awhile."
Louisville held it's camp on Saturday, but the 6-foot-6, 340-pound Elam spent the afternoon visiting with the Charlie Strong and his staff, where he learned just how high U of L's interest is in him.
"Coach Strong told me that I need to start coming up here more often and start contacting me more because I need you," he explained. "He told me that he needs me to be his big man and that I'm his number one big man. He really wants me."
With a scholarship offer count that continues to rise, Elam informed Cardinal Authority that he currently favors four.
"I have a top four," said Elam, who will trip to Kentucky on Monday. "In no order it's Kentucky, Alabama, Louisville and Ohio State."
While there are some coaches that may be pushing for an early commitment, Elam has other plans.
"I'm going to be making my decision at the Army All-American Bowl," he said.
