Florida DB calls U of L visit 'tremendous'

Louisville's football staff has been hosting a bunch of prospects in recent weeks, including a three-star safety from New Smyrna Beach, Fla., with over 20 scholarship offers. Cardinal Authority chatted with D'Cota Dixon about his visit.

New Smyrna Beach, Fla., three-star prospect D'Cota Dixon has been on a tour of schools in the Midwest this week including a stop at Louisville.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Dixon camped at Ohio State on Sunday and was at U of L on Monday before heading to Cincinnati on Tuesday. He said he plans on stopping by Purdue and Illinois on Wednesday.

"It's bee a lot of fun," Dixon said. "I've had a lot of good experiences and am learning a lot of tools I can take back with me and use it to my advantage. It's been an awesome trip so far. I'm just taking it all in."

Dixon, who considered one of the top 100 players in the Sunshine State, spent time at U of L talking to the coaches and interacting with some of the players.

"It was a tremendous visit," Dixon said. "Louisville is very high on my list. They have a very good program and a great coaching staff.

"I liked it there a lot and will continue to look at Louisville."

Dixon also has offers from West Virginia, Purdue, South Florida, Marshall, Arkansas, Cincinnati, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Vanderbilt and others. He's also heard from Florida, LSU and South Carolina.
