Three football commits solid after visits

The University of Louisville football staff has hosted a bunch of visitors in the past week, including some campers this weekend. Three of those visitors were prospects already verbally committed to U of L. Cardinal Authority has the latest.

Three prospects already verbally committed to the University of Louisville football team were among a host of prospects on campus in the past week.

And all three have told Cardinal Authority they are solid commitments.

Hialeah Champagnat Catholic safety Michael Johnson and Jacksonville, Fla., Trinity Christian stars Isaiah Ford and Kavaris Harkless are all on board.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Johnson, who also holds an offer from LSU and a bunch of others, made his visit on Wednesday with teammate Travonte Valentine, who has been committed to U of L and Florida but is currently looking around.

Johnson said he was "very much" committed to Louisville and send the message that he "loves #Cardnation" after making his visit.

"It went really well," he said. "I loved everything that I saw at Louisville.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Ford is a wide receiver and said that he "had a great time" on his visit Friday. He was with Harkless and several other teammates.

Ford said he was able to meet U of L quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and basketball guard Russ Smith. He's expected to sign to play football but also walk-on to play basketball when he arrives at U of L.

"It was great," Ford said.

Harkless is a 6-foot5, 273-pound offensive lineman and also termed the visit "great" after he left campus on Friday evening.

"I love the entire campus," Harkless said. "I'm glad I committed."
