LSU pledge considering Cardinals

Linebacker Sharieff Rhaheed committed to LSU in March, but the four-star linebacker remains open to what options are available. Cardinal Authority caught up with Rhaheed and discussed his visit to Louisville on Tuesday.

Current LSU verbal commit Sharieff Rhaheed joined his Fort Pierce (Fla) Central teammate Rashawn Shaw on a trip to Louisville on Tuesday. While committed, the four-star target continues to evaluate his options.

"It went good," he said of his time in Louisville.

During his stay in the Derby City, Rhaheed toured the football facilities, met with the Cardinals coaching staff and met many of the returning members from the Sugar Bowl Championship team.

Head Coach Charlie Strong expressed his desire to have the 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker join the squad.

"They are really high on me and they want me to come up for another visit," he said of his conversation with the Cardinals head coach.

The possibility to play with Shaw, who claims U of L as his "number one," on the college level is something that the pair have discussed.

"We've talked about it," he told Cardinal Authority, adding that Shaw's pledge to U of L would play a role in his final decision. "It would effect me a little bit. I'm still considering them, so they aren't out."

Trips to Alabama and Arkansas are on his upcoming itinerary.

"I want to see a couple more schools and then I'll figure it out," he said. "Louisville is one of the schools that I'm looking at."
