"It felt pretty good and it felt like home," he said. "They told me that they have 39 players from Florida and when I got there I fit right in. I was surprised by all the people from Florida on the team."
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound three-star target told Cardinal Authority that the visit cemented Louisville at the top of his list.
On Thursday morning he contacted Head Coach Charlie Strong and committed.
"He was thrilled," Shaw said of Strong's reaction to his commitment. "Before I committed he told me that he needed me and wants me to apart of the Ville. He said he needed me to come in and make a big impact."
He committed to Louisville over scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, LSU, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee and others.
"It feels good to apart of CardNation," he told Cardinal Authority on Thursday morning. "I'm really comfortable with everything that they have to offer."
Shaw becomes Louisville's 17th commitment for the Class of 2014 and is the ninth player from Florida to pledge to the Cardinals.
