Peyton Siva the No. 56 pick of the draft

Former University of Louisville point guard Peyton Siva heard his name called in the second round of the NBA Draft on Thursday night. Siva was picked as the No. 56 player in the draft by the Detroit Pistons.

Peyton Siva led the University of Louisville to the school's third national championship this past season as the senior leader.

Now, Siva is headed to the NBA.

The Detroit Pistons made Siva the No. 56 pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, making Siva the second U of L player picked. Gorgui Dieng was No. 21.

A native of Seattle, Siva was a four-year player at U of L and ended his career as one of the most beloved players in school history. He also goes down as one of the top point guards in school history.

Siva was named MVP of the Big East Tournament as a junior and senior, only the second player to win the award twice. He helped the Cardinals to back-to-back Final Four appearances.

Siva averaged 10 points and 5.7 assists a game for the Cardinals and leaves as the school's all-time steals leader with 236 for his career.
