AARON SHINES IN PHILADELPHIA
University of Louisville commitment Shaqquan Aaron of Seattle turned in a stellar performance this week at the Reebok Breakout Classic in Philadelphia.
The 6-foot-8 Aaron had 29 points in a game on Thursday, finished as one of the leading scorers in the camp and was named to the All-Star Game.
Several other U of L targets, including top 2014 target Devin Robinson of Virginia, and '14 target Jalen Lindsey of Nashville, Tenn.
Lakeland, Fla., junior wing Dwayne Bacon also made the All-Star game.
BIG MAN ROBINSON IN MYRTLE BEACH
U of L coach Rick Pitino spent a few hours at the Big Shots Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Friday morning.
Pitino was there to see 6-foot-11, 300-pound center Elbert Robinson of Garland, Texas, who plays with the Dallas Seawolves.
Robinson's team lost the game Pitino was watching and he was also watched later in the day by U of L assistant Wyking Jones.
Robinson is the No. 6 ranked center prospect in the class and said U of L will be one of his visits this fall. He's also still considering Georgetown, Ohio State, Kansas and Oklahoma State. He said he hopes to make a decision in the fall.
MAGIC ROLLING IN INDIANAPOLIS
The Louisville Magic, led by U of L commits Quentin Snider and JaQuan Lyle, went 3-0 in pool play and then beat Garner Road in the first round.
The Magic will play Eric Gordon All-Stars on Saturday morning.
Lyle had 15 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and four steals against Garner Road, which is led by Georgetown commitment Isaac Copeland.
Snider had 17 points and eight assists.
If the Magic win against Eric Gordon, the next game would be 3:45 p.m. There could be three games on Saturday, if they keep winning.
GOODLUCK STILL PLAYING IN INDY
The Mass Rivals, led by Goodluck Okonoboh, are still playing in the 17s bracket at the adidas Classic in Indianapolis.
The 6-foot-9 Okonoboh had 12 points, eight rebounds and eight blocked shots in a win over Florida Elite-Black in the tournament opening round.
Mass Rivals play Brookwood Bounce Elite on Saturday morning.
