Pitino sees big men again; then on the move

The second day of the second evaluation period in July is in the books and University of Louisville coach Rick Pitino is on the move. Pitino spent the day in Milwaukee but is headed elsewhere on Friday. Cardinal Authority has the details.

University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino spent the second day of this evaluation period in Milwaukee at the NY2LASports.com Summer Jam.

Pitino and assistant coach Mike Balado watched several of the Cardinals' top post players for a second day in a row.

Before leaving Milwaukee on Thursday night, Pitino watched Chicago big man Cliff Alexander, Texas big man Myles Turner and Memphis forward Leron Black. He also watched those three players on Wednesday night.

Balado also watched a couple of younger players in Milwaukee, including Scout.com No. 1 2015 prospect Stephen Zimmerman of Las Vegas and top prospect Diamond Stone.

Pitino is expected to join assistant coaches Kevin Keatts and Wyking Jones in Washington, D.C., for the Nike Global Challenge.

Jones was on the road in D.C. on Wednesday, while Keatts was there on Thursday. All three are expected there on Friday.

Among the prospects at the Nike Global event are U of L commitments Shaqquan Aaron and JaQuan Lyle. In his only game Thursday, Lyle had nine points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Aaron had nine points in the first game and had 10 points, four rebounds four assists and three steals in the second.

U of L is also checking out '14 forward Kelly Oubre and several '15 prospects, including Alex Owens, Chris Egi, Jamal Murray and Montaque Caesar-Gill.
