U of L has been visiting the camp for more than five years now and each visit has been a unique experience for the kids.
"This is great," said senior safety Hakeem Smith. "We get to hang out with the kids and it helps them enjoy the day and feel good about themselves."
The heavy rains during the afternoon didn't dampen the spirits of the kids or the players. They spent time singing a camp song, enjoying lunch together and signed game jerseys.
"It feels great to spend time with the kids and getting to interact with them," said junior running back Dominique Brown. "I think it gives them inspiration, but also motivation for them to keep going."
During a break, the players even found time to shoot a little basketball among the trees.
