The 6-foot-3 Coleman not only has ties to U of L but was also on campus in late June for an unofficial visit with his family.
"I went down there for a visit and liked it a lot," Coleman said. "But I am from Louisville, so I have been there a lot. I lived there most of my life."
Coleman, who is transferring from Indianapolis Cathedral to La Lumiere in Northwest Indiana for his junior season, said he moved from Louisville around age 12. He has talked to the U of L coaches but doesn't have an offer.
"I don't look too deep into schools that haven't offered me yet," he said. "So, we'll just have to see who offers me."
Coleman has offers from Purdue, Indiana, Notre Dame, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio State, Arizona, Cincinnati and several others. He said the two latest came from Arizona and Memphis, noting, "I don't have a phone."
He has his family take care of the recruiting process at this time, noting that he just wants to work on honing his skills.
"I'm focusing on getting better," he said.
