Cards in the mix with 13 top 100 players

With the Class of 2014 nearly full, the University of Louisville football staff has turned their attention to the Class of 2015 and the Cardinals are in on some top prospects. U of L is mentioned with 13 members of the top 100 for the Class of 2015. Cardinal Authority has the latest.

The University of Louisville football staff has already been busy with the Class of 2015, offering a bunch of prospects in the class.

Among the offers the Cardinals have out for the '15 class are 13 players who were ranked in the new national top 100 for the class.

The Cardinals are listed as schools of interest with two of the top 10 players in the country, including No. 4 Mitch Hyatt, an offensive lineman from Suwanee, Ga., North Gwinnett and Glen Saint Mary, Fla., Baker County defensive end CeCe Jefferson, who is listed as the No. 6 overall prospect.

Hyatt is listed as the No. 1 prospect in the South, while Jefferson is listed as the No. 3 prospect in the South.

The three other top-50 prospects are Jacksonville, Fla., Trinity Christian linebacker Jeffrey Holland (ranked at No. 33), Orangeburg, S.C., defensive tackle Albert Huggins (ranked at No. 39) and Powder Springs, Ga., McEachern running back Taj Griffin (ranked at No. 50).

Fairburn, Ga., Langston Hughes linebacker D'Andre Walker, who is No. 63, also has a U of L offer along woth No. 73 Hjalte Froholdt of Warren, Ohio, and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., University School running back Jordan Scarlett at No. 78.

Also with offers from U of L and listing the Cardinals are: Lisle, Ill., Benet Academy quarterback Jack Beneventi (ranked No. 82), Orlando, Fla., Timber Creek running back Jacques Patrick (No. 86), Cleveland Benedictine linebacker Jerome Baker (No. 87), La Mirada, Calif., quarterback Kevin Dillman (No. 90) and Memphis University School offensive tackle Drew Richmond (No. 95).
