Bowers 'for sure' will visit Louisville

Top junior-college prospect Cinmeon Bowers said he's remained in contact with the University of Louisville basketball staff and is expecting to make a visit this fall to campus. Cardinal Authority has an update on Bowers.

Cinmeon Bowers is expecting to make one of his five official visits to the University of Louisville this fall.

"For sure," Bowers said. "We're in the process of working out a date for me to get up there. But I want to for sure."

Bowers said a report from Monday that he has narrowed his list to Memphis and Florida State, "wasn't true." He will visit Memphis on Aug. 25.

"I've been talking to Louisville a lot," he said, noting assistant coach Mike Balado has been the point man for his recruitment.

The 6-foot-7, 260-pound Bowers is one of the top JUCO players in the country and attends Chipola, Fla., Junior College.

U of L started recruiting Bowers in July when Balado saw him at the Mullen's Top 100 JUCO Camp in St. Charles, Mo. U of L coach Rick Pitino then watched Bowers the following week at a JUCO event in Atlanta.

Bowers has been compared to current U of L payer Chane Behanan, except with a little more skill, and Chipola coach Patrick Blake – a former manager at U of L for Pitino – said he "would agree with that assessment."
