Focus on Ohio

University of Louisville head coach Charlie Strong held his first game week press conference on Monday afternoon. Linebacker Preston Brown and center Jake Smith also visited with the media.

With fall camp now in the rear view mirror, the ninth-ranked University of Louisville football team have started preparations for the season opener against the Ohio Bobcats on Sunday afternoon.

Cardinals head coach spoke highly of his team's opening opponent from the MAC.

"It's game week and I'm excited about our opponent," he said on Monday. "I have a lot of respect for Frank Solich. This team has been to four straight bowl games. Last season they had an over 1,600-yard rusher in Blakenship. Their quarterback Tyler Tettleton threw for 18 touchdowns and over 2,800 yards."

The Bobcats return 8 starters on offense and 6 on defense.

"Our work is cut out for us," said Strong. "What's key for us this week is the mental approach. Our preparation and focus is going to be key."

Louisville is currently a 20.5 point favorite over Ohio.
