The University of Louisville basketball staff doesn't have a commitment in the Class of 2015. But the Cardinals are in good position with some top players.
U of L coach Rick Pitino and his staff are in the mix for nine of the top 11 prospects in the updated Scout.com rankings for the Class of 2015.
"Rick Pitino and his staff have clearly done an excellent job in 2014, and now an eye has to be moved to the 2015 class," Scout.com national analyst Brian Snow said.
The new No. 1 prospect in the country – Malik Newman of Jackson, Miss., - is a 6-fot-3 shooting guard and confirmed to Cardinal Authority in late July that the Louisville staff was "coming after me hard."
U of L has also offered and is in the mix with No. 2 Stephen Zimmerman (6-11, C) of Las Vegas, No. 4 Ivan Rabb (6-9, F) of Oakland, Calif., No. 6 Cheick Diallo (6-9, Centerreach, N.Y.) and No. 7 Tyler Dorsey (6-4, G) of Bellflower, Calif.
