James Blackmon has 'positive' trip to U of L

Former Indiana University commitment James Blackmon Jr., said he had a positive visit to the University of Louisville on Thursday. Blackmon is one of the top shooting guards in the country in the Class of 2014.

Marion, Ind., High School star guard James Blackmon Jr. is making three unofficial visits this week with his father, James Sr.

The Blackmon's visited Kentucky on Thursday and will trip to Michigan on Saturday. On Thursday, the Blackmon's spent seven hours with the staff at the University of Louisville.

The 6-foot-3 Blackmon watched an individual workout, toured the campus and saw the KFC Yum! Center. He then watched the U of L team condition and spent time with the coaching staff, including Rick Pitino.

"I really enjoyed it all," Blackmon said.

Blackmon said the visit was positive and when asked what the most impressive part of the trip was he pointed to the arena.

"The Yum Center is the top of the line," he said.

Blackmon led the state of Indiana last season with 33 points a game at Fort Wayne Luers. He's ranked as the No. 56 player in the '14 class by Scout.com and is now at Marion because his father took over the coaching job there.

Blackmon visited Indiana and Michigan State last weekend. He was committed to Indiana for nearly two years before re-opening the recruiting process.
