U of L women's 2014 recruiting board

Cardinal Authority updates the University of Louisville women's basketball recruiting board for the Class of 2014. The Cardinals have three commitments and are in the mix for a bunch of other top players.

The University of Louisville women's basketball staff is hot on the trail of some of the top prospects nationally in the Class of 2014. The Cardinals already have commitments from Sydney Brackemyre of Harveysburg, Ohio, Ariana Freeman of Manassas, Va., and Mariya Moore of Salesian, Calif. Here are the top targets for U of L women's coach Jeff Walz and his staff.:


Myisha Hines-Allen

The 6-foot-2 Hines-Allen is a multi-dimensional player who can play any position on the floor at the college level. She has a ton of offers but recently made an unofficial visit to the U of L campus.

Victoria Vivians

The latest:
The 6-foot Vivians was named Miss Basketball in Mississippi after a junior season that saw her average 39.7 points a game. Vivians also averaged 15.1 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 1.5 blocked shots. Vivians narrowed her list of schools to Louisville, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Florida in June.

DeKeiya Cohen

The latest:
The 6-foot-1 Cohen averaged 26.7 points and 13 rebounds a game as a junior and was named to the South Carolina Class 4-A All-State team. In July, Cohen said her top six schools were U of L, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami, Notre Dame and South Carolina.

Jaime Nared

The latest:
The 6-foot-1 Nared is considered the No. 2 wing in the country per ESPN and she's another Oregon standout the Cardinals are in good shape with. Seems like it's becoming a trend in recent years. Nared is also considering Tennessee, Ohio State, UCLA, Oregon State and USC.

Kortney Dunbar

The latest:
The 6-foot-2 Dunbar is a sharpshooter from outside and was a teammate with current U of L freshman Emmonnie Henderson in high school. She averaged 14.6 points a game for Edwardsville. Dunbar has visited Tennessee and Baylor and is also still looking at U of L, Duke and Oklahoma State.

The latest:
The 5-foot-11 Canadian is a rising star among prospects. Her uncle is Donovan McNabb and she was a member of the Women's National Team in 2012 that won bronze at the FIBA U17 World Championships in Amsterdam. She was the team leader and sixth overall in the tournament in points per game and one of the team captains and this year played with the Canadian women's senior team.

The 6-foot-5 Wilson is considered the top prospect in the country. She recently visited South Carolina and isn't expected to make a decision until the spring. The Cardinals will try to get her in for a visit. Wilson was part of the gold medal winning USA Women's U19 World Championship team. Only playing 16 minutes per game, she was third in scoring at 10.9 points per game and led the team in rebounding with 7.9 rebounds per game.
