But it was the first since he committed to the Cardinals.
The 6-foot-5, 322-pound McCray committed to the Cardinals in early May and took in the season-opener against Ohio University on Sunday.
"It was awesome," McCray said. "Last year, I came to a game and when I came to Junior Day it was a basketball game. But this year, being committed it felt a lot different. It was everything I was hoping it would be."
McCray, who held around six offers when committed, said he was able to try and watch the offensive line a little closer during the visit.
Right tackle Nacho Garcia is a player he watched because when he came to a practice "I was really focused in on him."
"The stadium is a great place for a game and the atmosphere was awesome," he said. "I watched Nacho a lot. The line did a great job, you can tell they all work so hard. I can't wait to get there."
McCray said his team is 1-0 on the season after rolling Rock Hill 40-6 in the opener. Minford is a small school with "a chance for a good season."
"I'm excited to get there," McCray said. "I talked to Danny Burns, another lineman commitment, when I was there and met the quarterback, Reggie (Bonnafon). It was good to meet and get to know some of the guys."
U of L has 25 commitments in the Class of 2014.
