Fall sports: U of L weekly roundup

The University of Louisville football team is open this weekend, but that doesn't mean there isn't a ton of action around campus. All the fall sports teams are playing league games this weekend, including soccer, women's soccer and volleyball at home. Cardinal Authority has the latest.

The University of Louisville men's soccer team takes a three-game winning streak into this weekend's American Athletic Conference game.

The Cardinals (5-2) will host Temple (6-2) on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Cardinal Park. U of L has outscored foes 12-5 this season, while Temple has six shutouts and has allowed just three goals so far this season.

The women's soccer team is also home this weekend, hosting Memphis on Friday night at 7 o'clock and Rutgers on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Cardinals (4-3-1) are coming off a double-overtime loss at Marquette last weekend. The two games this weekend mark the start of AAC play.

U of L's volleyball team takes a 4-6 record into AAC play this weekend with two matches at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals will host Memphis at 7 tonight and Temple on Sunday at 2 after winning two matches at home last weekend.

U of L's field hockey team is 6-2 and plays a second Big East Conference game tomorrow in College Park, Maryland, against Georgetown at 1 p.m. The Cardinals are 1-0 in league play.

The women's golf team will play in the Windy City Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Highland Park, Ill.
