Lucas Camp loaded with top talent

The fourth annual John Lucas Midwest Invitational will be played at Hoops in Louisville this weekend and is loaded with top talent from all over the country and several foreign countries.

The fourth annual John Lucas Midwest Invitational is loaded with top young talent and will be played in Louisville at Hoops.

The event runs from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday and then from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday at Hoops. The event will have kids from 30 states, plus Canada, Australia and Africa.

Among those competing will be players from the Class of 2015, '16 and '17.

Among the top players in the event is two prospects expected to maybe stop by the Louisville campus at some point after the event.

Bel Air, Md., John Carroll School point guard Justin Jenifer wants to check out U of L, while Cleveland forward Carlton Bragg made a visit to the U of L campus before the event on Friday. He's considered one of the top prospects overall and No. 3 among power forwards in the '15 class.

Another name to watch is Dominican standout Jeromy Rodriguez, Deng Adell of Australia and top 2016 big man Thon Maker.

A day pass costs $10.
