The football field wasn't the only place where the University of Louisville won on Thursday night.
The Cardinals also appear to have won in a battle to keep their athletic director.
With several schools coming after him - including Texas - YahooSports.com national columnist Pat Forde reported U of L athletic director Tom Jurich isn't going anywhere.
"Multiple sources told Yahoo Sports Thursday night that Jurich is committed to Louisville and is not a candidate for that job or any other AD job," Forde wrote in his story.
Cardinal Authority has also confirmed through two sources that Jurich won't leave The Ville.
Jurich declined to comment on the situation. He's never commented on job situations.
During his time at U of L, Jurich has built the Cardinals' athletic program into a powerhouse. The Cardinals won a national title in basketball, a BCS bowl game, appeared in the women's national title game and made it to the College World Series last season.
"Why would he leave now?" one source asked Cardinal Authority. "There's more to do."
Jurich will guide the U of L athletic program into the ACC next season. The Cardinals will join the new league on July 1, 2014.
