U of L fall sports: Weekly roundup

Many of the fall sports seasons are winding down, nearing conference tournament play. Cardinal Authority takes a look at what's going on this weekend in those sports.

It's another busy week of sports for the ‘Ville. Here's what the weekend has in store for the various fall sports programs at the University of Louisville.

The U of L women's soccer will close out their regular season with a trip to the University of Cincinnati on Friday night. The Cards are 11-4-1 on the season, and will begin tournament play with the American Athletic Conference Tournament starting next Thursday, on Halloween.

Women's volleyball will have two road games this weekend. The team will travel to Rutgers on Friday before making a trip to UConn on Sunday. The team, now 12-7 overall, have won 10 of their last 11 and are undefeated in the conference.

After a loss and a tie in their last two outings, men's soccer looks to get back on the winning track with a game at Memphis on Saturday night. After the weekend the Cards will have a break until Thursday, when they'll host Saint Louis. The team is 9-3-2 overall.

Women's tennis will compete on Saturday and Sunday in the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich. The Spartan Invitational will mark the team's fourth tournament of the season.

Women's rowing and women's golf will both be in action, as well. Rowing will be in Indianapolis, Ind. competing in the Head of the Eagle Tournament, while golf will participate in the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
