Recruiting becomes a priority during an off week, and that added attention helped lead to the Cardinals landing the second member of the 2015 recruiting class.
"I kind of already knew Louisville is where I wanted to go," Crawford told Cardinal Authority.com. "I wanted to do it before my mommas birthday. Her birthday is tomorrow, so I wanted to do it and tell her (as a present)."
The 6-foot, 198-pound three-star prospect also claims scholarship offers from Alabama, Boston and Georgia, with interest from a host of other schools. He ranks as the No. 42 running back in the country by Scout.com.
"We loved the coaching staff from day one," he said. "It's a great program, but for me it was more than that. It was about the coaches and how much I liked them.
"When they tell you something, they mean it. They were my first big offer and they were always there for me like they said they would be."
Crawford sat out some games as a sophomore after transferring schools. He had 825 yards rushing and seven touchdowns, along with 1,243 all-purpose yards, in five games. He's played a lot of quarterback for a 2-6 Hardaway team this season.
