U of L after another star from South Carolina

The University of Louisville football staff has been recruiting the state of South Carolina harder in recent years. The Cardinals have three commitments in the Class of 2014 and are in on a top wide receiver from the state in 2015.

Greenwood, S.C., High School wide receiver Markeyvious Adams is considered one of the top prospects in the state among the Class of 2015.

The 6-foot-5, 175-pound Adams has an offer from North Carolina State and was hoping to make a visit to Louisville during this season.

Adams had his plans changed last week when "something came up" just before he was expected to leave for the U of L game against Houston. Now, Adams said he still wants to "take a look" at the Cardinals.

"I only have one offer," Adams said. "But I want to look at a lot of schools."

Adams said U of L is among a host of schools, including Clemson, Appalachian State, Duke, North Carolina, Georgia, USC, Florida State and Missouri.

Adams said the Cardinals and Clemson have been "recruiting me pretty hard," noting he has visited N.C. State and Clemson.

Greenwood High runs a wing-T offense and lost in the first round of the playoffs, ending Adams' season a bit early.

"The season went good, but ended too quick," he said. "I went from an undefeated season and a state championship to being eliminated in the first round, but I've got one more year to come back."

The Cardinals have three commitments – Poona Ford, T.J. Foster and Zykiesis Cannon – from the state of South Carolina in '14.
