Louisville built an early third quarter 24-3 lead and held on to defeat visiting Memphis 24-17 on Saturday afternoon at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

The Cardinals compiled over 342 yards of offense in the win. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was 26 of 36 for 220 yards and a touchdown. Junior running back Dominique Brown added 54 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.

Senior linebacker Preston Brown recorded the Cardinals first touchdown of the game when he scooped up a fumble and raced 48 yards for the score.
