Louisville hoops runs past the Stags

The defending national champion University of Louisville basketball team roll to a fifth straight win at the start of the season, beating Fairfield 71-57 on Saturday afternoon in Uncasville, Conn.

Sophomore forward Montrezl Harrell had his first career double-double as the University of Louisville men's basketball team moved to 5-0.

Harrell finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots as the Cardinals downed Fairfield 71-57.

U of L had its worse shooting performance of the early season - 23 of 61 from the field, including 2 of 14 three-pointers - but outrebounded the Stags 48-34 and rolled.

Harrell was 6 of 13 from the field.

Chris Jones added 15 points, three steals and two assists, while Wayne Blackshear had 11 points and five rebounds and Russ Smith chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.

U of L will now play North Carolina for the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic title on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
