Cincinnati Walnut Hills safety Nilijah Ballew was back at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium watching his future team on Saturday afternoon.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Ballew came with his parents to watch the University of Louisville beat Memphis 24-17 on Senior Day.

"It was great," Ballew said. "Me and my parents really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is really great there."

Ballew picked U of L in April over Western Michigan, Miami (Ohio) and Bowling Green and said he can't wait until he signs papers in February.

"Yes, I will sign with Louisville and I am very excited," he said.

Ballew said he watched the Cardinals beat Memphis and also chatted with U of L defensive coordinator Vance Bedford and offensive coordinator Shawn Watson.

"We had a great time," Ballew said.

Walnut Hills finished 4-6 this season and Ballew said he had a solid senior campaign for the Eagles.

Ballew finished with 90 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He was named first-team All-Conference and first-team All-Southwest Ohio.
