Cards win a thriller in overtime, 31-24

CINCINNATI - Dominique Brown scored a two-yard touchdown run and the defense stopped Cincinnati in overtime as Louisville downed Cincinnati 31-24. The Cardinals finish the regular season with an 11-1 mark and accepted a bid to the Russell Athletic Bowl on Dec. 28 in Orlando, Fla.

Teddy Bridgewater made play after play in the second half on Thursday night.

Including two touchdown throws in the final 8:08 as the University of Louisville edged Cincinnati 31-24 in overtime an American Athletic Association Conference game.

Bridgewater made the plays to get U of L into overtime and then Dominique Brown scored on a 2-yard run to win it. The defense held the Bearcats on four downs.

The Cardinals keep the Keg of Nails after Bridgewater hit Damian Copeland on a 22-yard pass with 8:08 left and then hooked up with DeVante Parker on a 4-yard TD pass with 2:26 left.

The Cardinals finish the season with an 11-1 record and accepted an invitation to the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando, Fla., on Dec. 28.
