Michael Johnson will come to the University of Louisville next fall as a champion.

The Class of 2014 safety prospect committed to the Cardinals helped Hialeah (Fla.) Champagnat Catholic knock off Lakeland (Fla.) Victory Christian 14-7 in the Florida Class 2-A state title game at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

Johnson helped the Champagnat defense hold Victory Christian to just 193 total yards. Champagnat jumped to a 14-0 lead and then held on as Victory charged in the end.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Johnson helped the Lions to a 14-0 record and the school's first state title. The school is a tiny Catholic school with 210 students in Hialeah, Fla.

U of L commitment Chris Nelson played on the Victory Christian team that lost in the title game.
