Strong has 'good' in-home with top prospect

University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong and his staff have been all over the country this week checking in on prospects. On Tuesday night, Strong had dinner with one of the Cardinals' top committed players from Florida. Cardinal Authority has the latest.

University of Louisville football coach had an in-home visit with one of the Cardinals' top committed prospects from Florida.

Strong was in the home of and had dinner with Fort Pierce, Fla., Central High School standout Rashawn Shaw.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Shaw is a three-star prospect and considered the No. 62 defensive lineman in the country. He committed to U of L in June but still has a bunch of schools calling him and some trying to get him to take visits.

"Coach Strong was here and it went good," Shaw reports. "He ate dinner with us and talked to my family about his goals for success for me."

Shaw had previously told Cardinal Authority he hopes to enroll in January. He's expected to make an official visit to U of L this weekend.

Arkansas is still in pursuit and is trying to get Shaw to take a visit, while he's also been hearing from Georgia Tech.

Shaw had 95 tackles as a senior, including 27 tackles for a loss and 17 sacks.
