U of L women dominate Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. - The high-scoring University of Louisville women's basketball team surpassed the 100-point mark for a school-record fourth time this season on Tuesday, rolling over Ball State 105-67. The Cardinals moved to 11-1 on the season with a matchup against No. 11 Colorado on Saturday at the KFC Yum Center.

The University of Louisville women's basketball team came out fast and never stopped, blitzing host Ball State 105-67 on Tuesday night to move to 11-1 on the season.

The Cardinals had four players in double figures and all 11 players scored at least four points in the win over Ball State.

Shoni Schimmel had 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 27 minutes, and Sara Hammond scored 11 of her 13 points in the first five minutes of the game. Hammond added six assists, three rebounds and two blocked shots.

Jude Schimmel had 14 points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds, while Tia Gibbs chipped in 15 points for U of L.

The Cardinals have won four straight since losing to rival Kentucky and won the past two games by a combined 93 points, scoring 213 points. U of L has also tied the school's single-season record with eight 90-plus point games, which was first set during the 1990-91 season.

U of L hit 43 of 72 from the field (59.7 percent) and 8 of 18 three-pointers.
